Tiffany Hwang, MD

California Perinatal Psychiatrist

Reproductive Psychiatrist

Available remotely for residents throughout California

Welcome! I'm a women's mental health psychiatrist. I provide medication management and therapy for women throughout all of life's stages and hormonal changes.

Additionally, as a reproductive psychiatrist, I specialize in caring for women who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or postpartum. My specialty extends to symptoms of depression and anxiety related to periods, menopause and undergoing fertility treatments.

The complexities of caring for your mental health during the perinatal period can be daunting to navigate. My specialized training in this field will help to guide you in having a healthy, safe pregnancy and postpartum that fits the needs of you and your family.

I work with patients in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the state of California through online visits.

Due to the public health emergency, I am currently only providing online video visits for all patients.

About Me

I find it incredibly meaningful to work with my patients during such a delicate life stage. My expertise is working safely with psychiatric medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding and understanding the effects of hormonal changes. I listen to your experiences and will always meet you where you're at. I will give you my honest recommendation and work to see how that may fit into your life or meet your goals. The treatment plan we decide on will be unique to you, guided by your experiences and preferences, the evidence-based data and scientific literature, and my clinical expertise.

Training:
I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with an Honors in biology. I then completed Medical School training at the University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, where I was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society (awarded to "colleagues who you would want taking care of your own family"). I then completed Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of California San Diego where I completed a Chief Residency year and clinical training at the UCSD Women's Reproductive Mental Health Clinic. I am board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Insurance & Fees
To provide more personalized care, I am not a participating provider with any insurance company. Book now or schedule a phone call to get fee details.

Free insurance reimbursement support
Reimbursify is a company that helps patients file out-of-network (OON) claims. Even though I don't accept insurance, many insurance companies will reimburse you directly for appointment fees with me (typically 60-100%).

My practice is subscribed to Reimbursify’s concierge plan to help simplify your process of getting reimbursed. This plan means all of my patients get:

  • Free OON claims filing through Reimbursify

  • Priority claim support through Reimbursify

  • I can help you check if you have any OON benefits and what they look like (most who have a PPO will have these benefits)

If you want to check your OON benefits with me, schedule a phone call and fill out the insurance fields.

Medicare
I am not accepting patients with Medicare at this time, even if you are self-pay.
